Family & Education

Astorn is a six-year-old boy who lost both of his parents and now lives under the care of his grandmother, Mirriam Mutambo. Despite the hardships they face, she provides for him with love and dedication.

Astorn attends Masasa Primary School, where he is currently in the second grade and performing very well academically. He enjoys learning and is described as shy but attentive in class.

Physical Health

There is no previous medical information available for Astorn according to his grandmother. During our visit, he was found to have a mild case of tinea corporis (a common fungal skin infection), for which medication was provided. He also received children’s multivitamins to support his general health.

While his grandmother had no official records of his birth date or immunizations, we established his birth date as December 24, 2019, to help provide an official record moving forward.

Spiritual Health & Prayer Requests

Mirriam Mutambo and Astorn are members of Mzuzu Baptist Church, where they regularly attend services. Please pray that Astorn will continue to grow in his understanding of God’s love for him through Jesus Christ and come to personal faith at an early age.

Pray for a child sponsor for Astorn—someone who will help provide for his education, clothing, and nutritional needs. Also, pray that he continues to excel in school and that he listens to and assists his grandmother at home.

October 2025 Visit Report

In October 2025, Agape Evangelical Ministries traveled with a small team to Mzuzu City, Malawi (Southeast Africa) on October 8, 2025. We praise God for the wonderful visit we had with each child and caregiver, during which we conducted brief medical assessments and shared fellowship at Mzuzu Baptist Church.

Astorn is a quiet and gentle child who enjoyed coloring and listening to stories about God’s creation and love. During this visit, he received new tennis shoes, socks, underwear, and pants, which brought joy to both him and his grandmother.

His grandmother expressed deep appreciation for the ministry’s continued support and partnership with Mzuzu Baptist Church in caring for orphans and vulnerable children.
